Market Update: Earnings Good, Not Great
Futures are lower before Thursday’s open as the market pauses to digest the recent rally. So far, this is perfectly normal and a classic case of buy the rumor (of strong earnings) and sell the news (once the strong earnings are announced). As previously mentioned, the major indices are extended from their respective 50 DMA line and due to pullback. Plus they rallied for two straight weeks and can easily pause this week to digest their recent gains. Conversely, if the market doesn’t pullback and continues to rally -that would be a bullish sign.
